Memorial Park, located off Karlin Road, is a popular location for both local residents and seasonal visitors. Amenities at the park include ball fields, a playground, basketball courts and a picnic area that features two pavilions. To rent a pavilion, call the township offices at (231) 276-9329. A fee and deposit are required to reserve the pavilions.

Memorial Park also is home to the Green Lake Airport, which serves Interlochen and Grand Traverse County. The airport has four runways, including a 2,800-foot turf runway. The facility is at an elevation of 866 feet, and is located three miles from the village of Interlochen. For more information on the airport, call Jim Anderson at (231) 947-2406.

 

Bicentennial Park is a future park acquired by Green Lake Township located at 1st St and 

Green Lake Township is also home to Interlochen State Park, which in 1917 was established as Michigan’s first state park by the Michigan Legislature. With its location between Duck and Green Lakes, many water-related sports and activities are available. The park also offers 490 campsites. Other activities at the park include a playground, swimming, fishing, boat access launch, picnic area, hiking, and cross-country skiing. DNR Campground reservations.

Another popular recreation destination is the Lost Lake Pathway, located along the shores of Lake Dubonnet on the northern border of Green Lake Township. At the Department of Natural Resources-operated Pathway, visitors can enjoy a host of recreational opportunities including cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, boating, camping, hiking on a shore-to-shore trail, and horseback riding.
